Staff heads to Madison to
Advocate for Community Health Centers
|
In February staff members from SBCHC traveled to the State Capitol in Madison to join other Wisconsin Community Health Centers in spreading the word about CHCs. The event was organized by WPHCA and was attended by 15 of the 17 Health Centers in Wisconsin. Scenic Bluffs staff was able to meet individually with the representatives from our area such as Assembly Representatives Steve Doyle and Lee Nerison and Senator Jennifer Schilling.
Learn how to become a supporter of Community Health Centers at: http://www.saveourchcs.org/ Next time you're at our health center ask about signing our petiton- they will be hand delivered in Washington D.C. by our advocacy leader and local board member in March! |
WiCPHET Immersion Project
The six MPH students that took part in the Immersion program hosted by Scenic Rivers AHEC brought their work to the community on December 5th, 2011.
Community members, professionals, organizers and students all gathered at the Cashton Community Hall to listen to the students' findings from working in the rural health care field over the last four months. Although the program may have reached its end it is obvious that their work will carry on.
