Sara Martinez
School: University of California at San Francisco, School of Nursing. For 16 years I’ve worked as a registered nurse for a migrant-community health center, public health departments, and a community mental health agency. I’ve made rural Viroqua my home for 10 years.
Hobbies:gardening, baking, walking in the woods, volunteering for Valley Stewardship Network
Work interests:I love Community Health Centers! Being a part of a respected organization that provides high quality, comprehensive, affordable, and holistic healthcare to my neighbors is an honor. I particularly enjoy providing health education. I am a big believer in meeting people "where they are at" (and then nudging them a bit further) when it comes to promoting healthy lifestyle changes.
My focus in 2012 is coordinating Scenic Bluffs’ steps to recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. This process promises to highlight opportunities for Scenic Bluffs to help improve on our strengths and reduce barriers to better public health.
