Gardening, baking, and walking in the woods.
Sara Martinez and her family have happily made rural Viroqua their home for more than a decade. She spent her childhood in Los Angeles County, before venturing off to attend college in Minnesota. Sara returned to the West Coast to complete her Master’s of Science in Nursing at the University of California at San Francisco, and to work for a community health center in Washington. The beauty and community-spirit of Wisconsin’s Driftless Area drew her to establish roots here.
Sara joined Scenic Bluffs’ staff in 2011. She has many years of experience in public and mental health nursing. She provides a wide spectrum of health education services, including diabetes self-management training, smoking cessation support, and cardiac risk reduction education.
Sara coordinated the organization’s process to become recognized as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) by the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
