David F. Gundersen, DDS, MPH

BA, Yale University, Psychology-Biology: MPH, Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University, Health Policy and Management; DDS, Marquette University School of Dentistry, General Dentistry.

Prior to pursuing a career in dentistry, Dr. Gundersen focused on promoting child and family health. After teaching middle school science and health in Compton, CA, Dr. Gundersen returned to Wisconsin to run the State’s School Health Programs and the Wisconsin Tobacco Control Board. Dr. Gundersen then returned to dental school at age 39, graduating from the Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2011.

When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Gundersen enjoys traveling, reading, watching movies, cycling, hiking, sailing and cross-country skiing with his wife Amie and daughter Lucie. He is also the author of two children's books, Blacktooth and Dentina, writing under the pen name of Davie Fletcher.
